What to buy after you have said ‘yes to the dress’ and before your alterations

Congratulations on finding your dream wedding dress with us!

We have created a little check list to help you with your next steps before your alterations start…

Undergarments: Finding the right bridal underwear will amplify your confidence and comfort, so you can feel your absolute best on the big day. When searching for bridal underwear consider flattering and supportive undergarments that works for you and your chosen dress style. Find the right bra for your gown’s cut and neckline and also think about whether you’ll want to wear any shapewear. Undergarments can affect how your gown fits. Prioritize comfort and fit, opting for nude or as close to your skin-tone as possible. Seamless styles is our top tip to avoid visible lines under your dress. Our stylists are always here to help and advise so don’t hesitate to give us a call!

Shoes: We absolutely love seeing every one of our brides chosen footwear at their first fitting! Our top tip is to consider your venue and wedding dress… Your chosen shoes should not only compliment your wedding gown style but be comfortable and practical. Every bride wants to be able to wear their shoes as long as possible (preferably for the whole day!) so there is nothing’s worse than painful footwear on your big day! Bringing the exact pair of shoes which you will be wearing on your wedding day is an absolute must at your first alteration fitting as your gown will be altered to the exact height. Each shoe will make a difference to your posture and the way you walk which is why a “similar” pair may be completely different to your chosen bridal shoes.

Accessories: Allow as much time as possible for finding your perfect bridal accessories to compliment your gown. Veils and petticoats still require ordering and delivery time. Although we will always help every bride if time is short, but don’t forget to book your free accessory appointment after ordering/purchasing your bridal dress from us. Our stylists will help you find the perfect veil, petticoat and hair accessories to compliment your bridal style!

Traveling with your wedding dress? If your wedding is abroad consider how you will transport your bridal gown to your destination. If traveling by plane – ask your airline if your dress can be carried onto the flight in the dress cover or will you need a bridal travel box…
